Jock wanted to come up with a way to seperate the shells from the nuts when using the Uni Nut sheller.  The idea was to have a fan blow the lighter shells away and let the heaver peanuts drop.  Powering the fan would require more enrgy than one arm could deliver.  Two legs produce 8 times the power of one human arm.  So a bicycle like system seemed to be the design.  We wanted a mechine that cold be built from materials that could be found world wide.  The 55 gallon oil drum are exactly the same all over the world.  And steel pipe is an other worldwide constant format. So those were the materials from which the built.  Jock takes pride in the fact that the final design uses ever square inch of one 55 gallon oil drum.  Hard wood barrings are also use because of their anazing durablity and easy low cost replacement anywhere.  The belts are 4L and are the most common belt format in the world.

As an end result the record is currently 2000 lbs of cleaned peanuts ready for market in a day by 5 women in souther Guyana.
